ThreatKrusher Pillar 06 · Continuity and recovery readiness

Decide what must continue before disruption decides for you.

Backups, recovery, communications, staff, vendors, applications, information, facilities, and alternate work paths all affect continuity. Identify the business priorities and dependencies before an interruption forces a decision.

Continuity supports agreed planning, recovery-readiness, exercise, evidence, and improvement work. Actual recovery performance depends on the event, scope, dependencies, decisions, and agreed services.

Decide what must keep working

Which business outcome, dependency, and recovery decision needs to be prepared now?

A backup job or written plan is only part of the answer. The team also needs business priorities, current dependencies, named roles, response authority, recovery assumptions, communication paths, exercise evidence, and a process for updating the plan when conditions change.

What Continuity organizes when contracted

Business priorities and dependencies

Connect critical business outcomes to the people, applications, information, facilities, suppliers, identities, and services they depend on.

Response and recovery roles

Define who can declare, coordinate, communicate, approve disruptive action, accept risk, and decide when work may resume in the applicable scope.

Recovery assumptions and preparation

Make recovery dependencies, fallback options, handoffs, sequence, technical work, and decision points visible. Assumptions must be tested or reviewed before they are relied upon.

Exercises and evidence

Use approved discussions, tests, exercises, reviews, or records to learn what the stated plan supports, what remains uncertain, and what needs improvement.

Change and improvement

Update priorities, dependencies, contacts, systems, vendor responsibilities, records, and review cadence when the operating environment changes.

Essential ecosystem dependencies

Cloud:

Connects environment, administration, information, and provider dependencies to recovery planning.

ITSM:

Turns approved preparation, changes, incidents, remediation, and lifecycle work into accountable operating records.

Trust:

Helps the responsible team evaluate security conditions and response evidence that can affect continuity decisions.

Access:

Helps define emergency-access authority, identity, privilege, review, and revocation boundaries.

Evidence boundary

Public pages should not contain recovery runbooks, backup configurations, recovery credentials, system inventories, incident material, client data, vendor contracts, architecture diagrams, or confidential exercise results. Any example requires permission, appropriate redaction, stated scope and period, a reviewer, and a stated limitation.

Your next step

Start with the business activity, dependency, or recovery assumption you need to test.

In a working session, we can clarify the immediate continuity decision, accountable roles, evidence that matters, and practical next action. If scheduling is not the right next step, you can send a request, call, or start a chat instead.
