ThreatKrusher Pillar 01 · Requirements and evidence

Keep requirements, accountable owners, work, and evidence connected.

A policy, assessment question, customer obligation, security finding, system change, or contract requirement is hard to manage when its owner, implementation, evidence, and review are scattered. Comply helps bring those responsibilities into a maintained operating discipline.

Comply supports agreed governance, implementation, evidence, and readiness work. It does not certify compliance, determine a score, replace an authorized assessor, or guarantee acceptance by a third party.

Keep the requirement connected to the work

What must be true for this requirement to remain reviewable?

A control list is not enough. The team needs to know what applies, who owns it, how it is implemented, what work remains, what evidence supports it, when it was reviewed, and what to revisit when the environment changes.

What Comply organizes when contracted

Requirements and scope

Connect the applicable requirement, relevant systems, data, users, services, dependencies, owner, source, and review date. Keep scope assumptions visible.

Ownership and work

Assign business, control, technical, service, evidence, approval, and escalation responsibilities. Link remediation, changes, exceptions, and validation work to the condition they address.

Evidence and review

Maintain records with source, period, context, owner, limitation, and review status. A file without context is not necessarily useful evidence.

Change and exception handling

When an obligation, system, data flow, supplier, finding, or risk decision changes, identify the effect on scope, controls, evidence, and the next review.

Continuous compliance needs a cadence

Keep the operating record current between assessments.

Where a contract requires CMMC status, the applicable clause requires an annual affirmation of continuous compliance by the organization's affirming official for each applicable information system. That responsibility calls for a current view of requirements, scope, service providers, system changes, controls, evidence, exceptions, and unresolved decisions.

Comply can support this cadence within the agreed scope. It cannot make the affirmation, guarantee continuous compliance, replace an authorized assessment, or transfer the organization's responsibility for its representations.

Provider and cloud responsibility review

Review the exact offering, provider role, data handling, security function, access, evidence, and responsibility boundary. An MSP, MSSP, External Service Provider, and Cloud Service Provider are not interchangeable labels. The operating record needs to reflect the service that actually exists.

People, process, and system

People

The client retains business authority, policy approval, accurate facts, risk acceptance, and responsibilities that cannot be delegated. Within agreed scope, eTrepid supports defined delivery and governance responsibilities.

Process

Define, assess, plan, implement, validate, collect, review, remediate, approve, monitor, and respond to change through accountable workflows.

System

Use approved systems of record to connect requirements, controls, assets, policies, work, evidence, exceptions, risks, decisions, and dependencies. The system supports the decision. It does not make the decision.

Essential ecosystem dependencies

ITSM:

Turns remediation, change, incident, request, and recurring control activities into assigned service work.

Trust:

Helps the responsible team assess security conditions and review the records that support security decisions.

Access:

Connects identity, privilege, authentication, authorization, and review work to accountable control ownership.

Evidence boundary

Demonstrate the method without exposing sensitive records.

Public pages should not contain CUI, vulnerabilities, detailed security architecture, credentials, assessment workpapers, or client-confidential findings. Any evidence example requires permission, appropriate redaction, a defined scope and period, a reviewer, and a stated limitation.

Your next step

Bring the requirement, current scope, or evidence gap in front of you.

In a working session, we can help identify the immediate decision, the accountable owners, the evidence that needs review, and the next operating action.
